The Labour Party has come a strong second in Bath in the 2024 general election with 8,665 votes.

Labour’s vote share was its highest in Bath since the 1979 general election and its highest vote tally since 1997.

With more voters turning to us, the Conservatives were consigned to third place (the first time that has ever happened in the constituency). That result means that Labour is now the only party that beats the Tories in every election held in Bath in the election cycle.

The +5.5% swing towards Labour at this election (compared with 2019’s notional result) is more than three times as great as the national swing towards the Party.

Labour achieved another first in the wider area by becoming the largest party in the South West. We now have 24 MPs in the region, more than the Liberal Democrats (22) and Conservatives (11).

The Bath Labour team thanks everyone in our city who put their faith in us with their vote at this election.
