West of England Combined Authority

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is set to receive a record £380 million of investment.

The new funding settlement, just announced, represents a 62% increase for this year and will allow more money to be spent on improving the environment, public transport, and skills education in the Bath area.

The increased investment and the forthcoming English Devolution Bill are part of moves by the Labour government to give regional mayors greater powers to improve their local area.

Labour took control of WECA, which includes Bath and Bristol, in 2021. Our candidate Helen Godwin is looking to become our next West of England Mayor when voters go to the polls on 1 May 2025, so Labour can continue delivering for Bath and the surrounding area.
