It was BathNES annual Budget council last night. Labour voted against the Lib Dem proposals, saying they had little faith in them delivering, given yet another year of veering off course quarter after quarter.

Labour is already calling – and working – for a much improved budget scrutiny process through the Constitution Working Group. Other councils have much better transparency and BNES must do better – scrutiny helps improve local democracy.
