£30million in cuts and 300 job losses, yet the Conservative council claims the impact on front line services is hard to identify. Bath Labour Partyknows from experience and from taking to residents the true cost of those cuts.

A letter by Jane Samson, Labour Candidate for Lambridge, published in the Bath Chronicle on 3rd January 2019

Sooner or later?

Interviewed in the Bath Chronicle, Tim Warren, Conservative leader of BANES council, talked about the harsh cuts that the council is being forced to make (29thNovember).

“Sooner or later”, he said, “the government will realise local authorities have got to be funded to deliver the services we deliver”.

Sooner or later, will Tim Warren realise that the Tory government that he represents is in the process of totally decimating public services in Bath and North East Somerset? And will he want to continue to represent it in next May’s council election?

Will he therefore join Bath Labour Party’s call for an end to austerity or alternatively, a General Election to elect a government that will end it?
